A Newsletter From Rev. Dr. Alfred Kalembo

Rev. Dr. Kalembo is the bishop of the Pilgrim Wesleyan Church of Zambia. He recently ended his term of office as president of the Zambia Council of Churches.

Dear Family and Friends, As the close of 2018 is fast approaching we want to give you some highlights of our family and ministry.


January We conducted a Pastors' Retreat with their Spouses in Eswatin. Hosted Brian Maydew and his team. Participated in the organization of the National Conference of the Wesleyan Church of Uganda.


February Installed Rev. Auster Halucha, as Chabbobboma District Overseer (Superintendent).


March – Our adopted daughter Caroline Muzyamba married Pastor Mirran Syachuka. First experience of marrying off a daughter.


April – Participated in the Leadership Matters Course under the auspices of Global Partners and Operation Mobilization (OM). We organized our annual Pilgrim Wesleyan Church Leaders and Missions Conference in Lusaka.


May – Led a leadership training for the Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) heads of churches.


June – Hosted a mission team from Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church, Wetumpka Alabama USA. Alfred attended the World Council of Churches Central Committee in Geneva, Switzerland.


July – Chaired district conferences and hosted a TEAM mission team. Team members came from California, Nebraska, Indiana, Missouri, and Kansas. They worked on installing solar power in our rural schools and built church benches.


August – Muumbe was ordained as Minister of the Word and Sacraments.


September – Alfred concluded his two terms as Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) President at CCZ 31st General Conference held in Ndola.


October – Partnership Development trip to the USA. We visited partners in Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Nebraska, and South Dakota. Spent time with our twin daughters Lindila (Lindi) and Luyando (Lulu) in Sioux Falls, SD.


November – Alfred elected as Asbury Theological Seminary's Distinguished Alumni 2018.


December – Muumbe organized and led the Zambia celebration of ILI 20th Anniversary on 30th st and November to 1 December. Lumba, our first born son's wedding with Thondelaon. 22 Annual family Christmas gathering.
